DPMM®
A dynamic method for modern project management
The Dynamic Project Management Method (DPMM®) is a comprehensive and flexible approach for efficiently managing projects in a dynamic and complex business environment. DPMM® is designed to provide project management teams with a clear structure while remaining agile and adaptable. It supports both agile and traditional delivery approaches, combining proven methods with a modern, flexibility-focused project management framework.
At its core, DPMM® always offers a minimal agile configuration that can be scaled and adjusted based on the project context. This allows teams to address specific project requirements while seamlessly integrating agile and non-agile delivery approaches. DPMM® is particularly well-suited for projects requiring dynamic adjustments, emphasizing product delivery and continuous improvement.
A key principle of DPMM® is that project management is not an end in itself. The goal is to successfully complete projects while ensuring that management provides the necessary structures for transparency and efficiency.
DPMM® can be scaled through various practices, offering a solid foundation for managing both small and large, complex projects. It emphasizes continuous improvement and provides clear guidelines for adapting to different project contexts. As a modern, agile, and versatile tool for project leaders, DPMM® goes beyond simple checklists, offering a dynamic methodology for sustainable project success.
DPMM-Foundation
The DPMM® Foundation training differentiates itself from traditional project management courses (such as IPMA certification) by emphasizing a clear distribution of responsibilities and focusing on the management of components rather than activities. Instead of the project manager controlling all activities, DPMM® clearly divides tasks: the project manager is responsible for overall project execution, while teams take autonomous, self-organized responsibility for delivering individual components. The component owner even has the freedom to choose the appropriate delivery approach—whether traditional, Scrum, Kanban, or custom methods.
This approach enables more efficient and agile project execution.
Projects require not only management by a project manager but also the engagement of multiple stakeholders—from sponsors to experts who contribute specific skills to the project's success. The foundation training is designed for all project participants, ensuring that everyone understands the structure of DPMM® and the different levels of collaboration. It teaches how teams operate within their areas of expertise, avoiding micromanagement and making project execution more efficient.

DPMM®- Manager
The DPMM® Project Manager training provides an in-depth understanding of the DPMM® methodology. Participants learn how to successfully plan and manage a DPMM® project, negotiate delivery agreements with teams, and divide the project into meaningful phases. The project manager (PM) takes on the role of coordinating efforts, managing risks, and addressing tolerance limits (time, scope, budget) when exceeded at any project level. A PM focuses on creating a transparent and open work environment that allows all stakeholders to make early adjustments to project deliverables or objectives if necessary.
A key characteristic of a DPMM® project is that it must continuously prove its relevance. If it becomes clear that the project goal is no longer relevant, feasible, or sustainable, the project can and should be terminated early—this is not a failure of management but rather a fundamental aspect of an agile and realistic project approach. The DPMM® Manager supports delivery teams in a complex business environment, ensuring that each participant can work optimally within their project level.
The training spans three days of in-person sessions, along with time for preparation and follow-up work. The certification is based on the DPMM® reference book by Marco Ramm (author of DPMM®), a practical work sample, and a knowledge assessment conducted by EXIN.
