Phases of the Agile-ADapT® Process

Agile-ADapT is structured into different phases that guide the transformation process:

  2. EXPLORE: Innovation is fostered in this phase, focusing on the development of new business models or products.

Agile-ADapT® Fundamentals

The Agile-ADapT® Fundamentals training is at the core of B.A.T., integrating proven methods and frameworks such as Scrum, Design Thinking, the five types of innovation, and Jobs-To-Be-Done. Agile-ADapT® places a strong emphasis on innovation—the driving force behind every successful company. Structured into three phases and nine sub-areas, Agile-ADapT® provides a systematic approach to digital business transformation.

This fundamentals course helps participants understand the significance and process of transformation: Where are the hidden potentials, and what role can each individual—from executives to trainees—play in this process? The training fosters an understanding of how different initiatives interconnect and how a sustainable transformation can be supported by everyone.

Agile-ADapT® Leader

An Agile-ADapT Leader is trained to coordinate and manage the initiatives of a digital business transformation. Building on the knowledge of a B.A.T. Agent, the Agile-ADapT Leader learns how to internally align and synchronize the different phases of the ADapT model. As the name suggests, ADapT requires a high degree of adaptability. The iterative nature of the method means that changes are implemented gradually and in carefully considered steps. Each phase (EXTRACT, EXPLORE, EXPAND) demands particular attention and targeted leadership.

The training provides deep insights into key topics such as Jobs-To-Be-Done, Innovation Sprints, and the five types of innovation (according to Botha, J.). These are essential concepts that every future-oriented company should master. The Agile-ADapT Leader integrates these elements into a holistic transformation process and actively drives their implementation.

Preparation for the training is self-organized and serves as the foundation for the three-day in-person training. The training focuses on practical exercises, including a simulated, AI-supported Innovation Sprint that tests the acquired skills in a realistic environment.

The training materials are based on publications by Joann H. Botha, the developer of Agile-ADapT, and Christoph Danker, training leader at Gateway2Agility and co-author of the book "Stop Changing, Start the Future – Transforming Your Business With Agile-ADapT" (Q1-2025).

Certification is conducted by Agile-ADapT® and includes a written exam as well as a final interview, which can be conducted with Johann Botha (in English) or Christoph Danker.
